Valentines Outfit Inspiration
Valentines day is nearly upon us and its perfect timing as all the new Spring Summer stock is arriving in stores daily.
When dressing for a Valentines date at night time or even for a surprise trip away, it’s always best to wear something that you feel amazing in. If you feel good your confidence will hold your outfit together and nothing is more sexy than feeling good about yourself.
The lunch date look needs to be relaxed but chic, try to avoid jeans if possible unless smart or leather. Luckily there are some fantastic relaxed smart casual trousers around which you can dress up, this means you are more comfortable and walking the lines between ‘underdressed’ and ‘tried too hard’ brilliantly.
Depending on where you go for lunch your footwear should be the thing that pulls it all together and give the look the right vibe. If it’s a surprise date and you're unsure of the dress code you can't go wrong with a block heal sandal or a pointy court shoe. If you think the location is slightly trendy then you can add something more fun that expresses your personality. I’m loving these options…
I don’t think you can go wrong with something simple on top and nothing is more elegant and feminine than a silk camisole. Wear with lashings of simple accessories and layer with a smart casual blazer.
If you think the venue is too relaxed for a silk cami try wearing a simple slightly sheer relaxed style T-shirt. They key to wearing a T-shirt in a more formal way is to carefully consider your accessories and if of course it’s a really cold day try a beautiful cashmere jumper. Throw over a classic trench and you are set for a wonderful Valentines lunch date.
A valentine’s dinner date is always a wonderful excuse to get dressed up and release your inner sex goddess and for me nothing says that more than a dress you feel absolutely amazing in, the kind of dress you put on and you know you own the room.
There are some fantastic high street dresses available at the moment and some from smaller designers that give you something that is a bit more unique and special. Here are a few suggestions below. I always think a pair of heals is a must for a dinner date even if it’s a kitten heal you need to be wearing something that elevates you and gives you that feminine poise that only heals can create.
Anything could happen Valentines day date….
This is always a massive dilemma, from a partners’ perspective it’s the ultimate romantic gesture but in wardrobe terms all you want to know is ‘What do I wear??’
I think situations like this are very weather dependant but you can be ready for anything by being fully prepared, the key without a doubt layering.
I would go with casual trousers or leather slim fitted leggings but if you think its defiantly more of a day trip then you can go smart jeans. Keep footwear flexible and wear and ankle boot, that way you are ready for anything, a romantic walk, golf, a spot of lunch or a trip to a museum. Opt again for the silk cami hen layer up with some knitwear and a chic but multi purpose coat, something that keeps you warm but could take you from a walk in the woods to the west end.
Jeans / Leather trousers
Hopefully you are now set to feel your’ best self’ on Valentines day no matter what romantic gesture is thrown at you.
However, if your loved ones’ idea of a romantic night out is a night in on the sofa with a take away why not try one of these
Happy Valentines Day ladies.
